Darold D. Morland

Darold Dean, son of Mina Jean (Showalter) and Roscoe Rex Morland was born on June 19, 1924 in the Whitehorse Community northwest of Alva. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on the 2nd of April at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 13days. He attended the Pleasant Hill Rural Grade School, and Farry High School. He pitched and played for the Farry High Baseball and the Basketball teams. In Alva On February 2, 1943 he was married to Dollie Lahoma Case. To their marriage two children, Ronnie and Joyce were born. Mrs. Morland passed away on September 30, 1955. Following their marriage they lived in Alva and he worked for Brunsteter motors. On April 4, 1956 in Cherokee, he was married to Billie Joyce Kern. To their marriage a daughter, Deborah was born. Joyce passed away on July 10, 1995. They made their home in Alva. He was married to Bettye Allen at the Alva First Presbyterian Church on May 24, 1997. They made their home in Alva. Mr. Morland was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alva. He played baseball for the Alva Elks and Filson Oilers. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifleman's Association. He was an avid hunter and loaded his own ammunition. He owned and operated Morland Motors for 20 years. Mr. Morland was preceded in death by his grandson baby boy Davison, his parents, and two brothers, Coye and Frank. Darold is survived by his wife Bettye, two daughters, Joyce Darlene Sims, and her husband Glen Marshall of Pampa, Texas and Deborah Sue Morland of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a son and his wife Ronnie and Kathy Morland of Edmond. Two step children: Linda and Greg Stong of Enid, Deliena and Roy Mercer of Yukon. Five grandchildren and their spouses: Bryan & Jennifer Morland, Angela Dawn Morland and Keith Champy, Heidi Darlene and Brad Knutson, Shawn Darold Sims, Robert Darold Davison, Russell Benjamin Davison. Seven Step grandchildren: Jessica, and Joe, Zepherys, Mark, Becca Mercer, Daniel Mercer, and Allison Stong. Seven great grandchildren: Mason and Maxwell Morland, K.C. Champy, Brayden, Bristen and Breven Knutson and Toby Davison. Two brothers and their wives, Alfred and Wanda Morland of Alva, Bob and Harriet of Laverne; a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. PDF Printable Version
