Alan Grunewald

Alan Ray Grunewald was born to Ray Grunewald and Mary (Campbell) Ritchie on April 19th, 1949 and passed July 19th, 2022 at the age of 73 at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, surrounded by loved ones. He attended the Byron-Driftwood school district in OK. He worked for a local trucking company delivering food to NWOSU where he met his future wife Dianne (Durham) Grunewald and he married her in Tulsa, OK May 24th, 1986. He had one son, Tyler Grunewald born March 6th, 1977 and one daughter Tori Rachel Grunewald, born and passed away July 26th, 1986. Alan’s favorite activity was anything he was doing with his wife and their nieces and nephews. He enjoyed teaching them everything outdoors including, shooting, fishing, hunting and archery. Dad jokes were his fortè. He and his wife also spent their time caring for adults with disabilities, and later running an In-Home Daycare where he considered all of the kids his own. He loved trips to the museums and local festivals and always made sure to drag at least one of his nieces or nephews along for “educational purposes”. Him and Dianne enjoyed bird watching at Haikey Creek and Keystone Lake and was one of their favorite moments alone. He was an excellent leather worker and bow string and arrow maker; also something he taught his “kids”. He was cherished by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his son Tyler Grunewald, Woodward, OK; cousin Max Elwood; Sister In-Laws Carlene Lightfoot and husband Vince Lightfoot and Darlene Bouchard; Grandson Cayden Grunewald; multiple nieces and nephews Jeremy Durham, Scottie Durham, Ashley Love, Latisha Crow, Stephanie Love, Scott Bouchard and Carolyn Bouchard; great nieces and nephews, Torrie and Maryiah Rhoads, Aubrey Trotter, Raylene Crow, Sean and Shai Durham, Meyer Molinyawe, Laney Bouchard and Caroline Love. He is preceded in death by his daughter, wife, mother, father, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and brother Burl Clark Grunewald.
