William Baker

William Leroy, son of Ora Mae (Williams) and William Isaac Baker was born on May 4, 1948 at Beaver, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully at his home in Lahoma on the 9th of April at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 4 days. He attended the Alva School System and graduated with the Class of 1966 and attended Northwestern State College. He joined the Marine Corp May 14, 1970 and was commissioned on February 1, 1974. He was honorably discharged December 21, 1977 as a Captain. Following his discharge he returned to Alva starting several small businesses. He then went to work in the oil fields. After retirement he made his home in Lahoma. William is survived by his two children, Tara Baker of Alva and Shane of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a grand daughter, Sydney Baker. His parents, Bill and Ora of Fairview, Oklahoma, three sisters; Virginia and her husband Gary Cropp of Hoisington, Kansas, Dorothy Burt of Bethany, Oklahoma, Sharron and her husband Dave Voth of Springdale, Arkansas and a brother and his wife, Terry and Cindy of Carmen, Oklahoma.
