Virginia Nixon
August 22, 1916 - February 24, 2008
Virginia Alberta, daughter of Bessie (Bracken) and Albert Rikli was born on August 22, 1916 at Drummond, Oklahoma. She passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on the 24th of February at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 2 days. She attended Drummond School System and graduated from high school with the class of 1934 and attended Northwestern State College at Alva for several years. Miss Rikli was married to Howard Nixon on December 19, 1936 at the Reverend Chester O. Bergert, home in Drummond. To their marriage a son, David was born. Following their marriage they lived and worked in the Drummond area. In 1954 they owned and operated a Grocery Store for five years. In 1960 they purchased the Vista Motel in Alva and in 1980 retired and she became a homemaker. Mrs. Nixon was a member of the Alva First Christian Church and the Christian Women Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Winifred Rikli and a brother, Blaine. Virginia is survived by her husband, Howard, a son and his wife, David and Wanda of Tulsa. A grand daughter, Michelle Nixon and a grandson and his wife, Howard and Kelli all of Tulsa. A sister and her husband, Joyce and Tros Trostel of Houston, Texas and a brother and his wife, Eldon and Emma Lou of Enid. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. PDF Printable Version
