Tad Leo Strickland

Tad Leo son of Karen (Bowers) and Terry Strickland was born in Alva, Oklahoma on June 8, 1969. He passed away at Share Medical Center on March 5, 2020 at the age of 50 years, 8 months and 26 days. He graduated with the class of 1988 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Later he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base working on communication equipment. After his enlistment in the Air Force he started a telecommunication business in Columbus, Ohio installing telephone systems and intercoms in local banks and other businesses. After six years he retired early and sold his business. He loved to travel and sail his sailboat in the Ohio Lakes and off the coast of Florida. He traveled to most of the central and southern states of America. After returning to Alva he worked as a Correction Officer at the Bill Johnson Correctional Center. Tad was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Strickland, grandparents Bowers and a brother-in-law Curtis Wylie. He is survived by his sister Toni Day of Skiatook, Oklahoma; three nephews, Stacy Kyle Wylie, Justin Curtis Lee Wylie and Terry Jeffrey Day; four great nieces, one great nephew. A number of other relatives and friends.
