Nadine Stewart
April 30, 1925 - June 9, 2008
Nadine, daughter of Mary (Fisher) and Fred Cox was born in Alva, Oklahoma on April 30, 1925. She passed away at the Alva Beadles Nursing Home on the 9th day of June at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 10 days. She attended the Alva School System. Miss Cox was married to William H. Stewart Jr. on December 24, 1940 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. To their marriage two sons, Russel and Stonie were born. Bill passed away on January 20, 1999. Following their marriage they lived, farmed and ranched on her husband's family homestead. They also worked at the Camp Houston Store and Service Station; she cooked at Jennie's Café and the Country Kitchen. She was a member of the Freedom Methodist Church. Secretary for the Freedom Cemetery for a number of years and volunteered at the Freedom Museum on the weekends. Mrs. Stewart was preceded by her parents, three sisters; Donnie, Vera and Maxine, a brother Fred. Nadine is survived by her two sons and their wives, Russel and Bonita and Stonie and Debra all of Freedom, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren and their spouse; Stacy and Bryan Davey of Freedom, Jeff Stewart of Alva, Chad and Melonnie Stewart of Ada, Ohio and Shawn and Megan Dewitt of Woodward. Seven great grandchildren; Cody and Shawna Dewitt, Whitney Davey, Anthony, Brandi, Lindon and Jacob Stewart. A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. PDF Printable Version
