Mary Louise Glasgow
March 12, 1926 - August 14, 2010
Mary Louise, daughter of Lillian R. (Russell) and Ross O. Vore was born on March 12, 1926 in Dacoma, Oklahoma. She passed away in Midland, Texas on the 14th of August at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 12 days. She attended the Dacoma Schools and graduated with the class of 1944 and went on to attend Northwestern State College. Miss Vore was married to Victor Wayne Glasgow on September 20, 1946 in Alva, Oklahoma, to their marriage two children, Teresa and Terry were born. Wayne passed away on December 31, 2000. Following their marriage they lived in Alva and later moved to Norman. In 1950 the family moved to Bartlesville to make their home. She traveled to Finland with Wayne and the USA Olympics Men’s Basketball team and watched him receive a Gold Metal in 1952. She was a member of the East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville. Mrs. Glasgow was preceded in death by her parents; husband V. W. Glasgow; a brother and his wife, Glen (Buster) and DeDe; a sister, Doris Koppitz; two Brother-in-laws, Harlon Goodwin and J.W. Small. Mary is survived by a daughter, Teresa Shumskie of Midland; a son and his wife, Terry and Janet of Sugar Land, Texas; four grandsons, Tyler and Wesley Shumskie of Midland and Marshall and Matthew Glasgow of Sugar Land; a sister, Ruth Ann Small of Dacoma; a brother-in-law Merle Glasgow of Moorpark, California and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Brenda and Salina. She will lie in state Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M.
