Jim Newton Kolesar
April 4, 1936 - January 11, 2019
Jim Newton, son of Clella Gertrude (Nall) and John Kolesar was born on April 4, 1936 and the Masonic Hospital in Cherokee, Oklahoma. He passed away on January 11, 2019 in Alva at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 7 days. He attended the Jet School System where he graduated from High School with the class of 1954. He attended Northwestern State College. He joined the United States Air Force serving in 1957 to 1961 and honorably discharged an E4. In 1961 he returned to Northwestern. Lacking only 6 hours of earning his B.A. Degree Jim married Anna Jean Wright on October 28, 1967 in Enid, Oklahoma and she passed away July 30, 1996. Following their marriage they lived in Oklahoma City and in 1989 they moved to Alva to make their home. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Alva Moose Lodge. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Alva Moose Lodge. Mr. Kolesar was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Jene and Joe. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Dana Reynolds, of Alva and Danean Kolesar of Marysville, Ohio; grandchildren, Rikki, Trestan, Lindsay, Robin, Dylan, Isaac, Phillip and Elisa; two sisters, Joan Via, of Arlington and Janice Farley, of Hardtner, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Joan Kolesar, of Melton, Missouri. He is also survived by two great grand children, Phalen and Zoey; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at a later date
