Clyde ( Bill) William Rader
September 27, 1917 - September 28, 2008
Clyde William son of Mabel Jane (Bosworth) and Clyde William Rader Sr. was born near Whitehorse on September 27, 1917. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on the 28th of September at the age of 91 years and 1 day. He attended the Pleasant Ridge and Mound Ridge rural Grade Schools. On January 28, 1942 he joined the U.S. Army and worked on the Alcan (Alaska Canada) Highway. He then went to the European Theatre and received four Bronze Stars in Normandy, Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe. He was discharged on November 14, 1945. On August 15, 1946 in Dodge City, Kansas he was married to Lela Olive Nokes. Following their marriage they made their home on the farm his grandfather, Harvey G. Bosworth, homesteaded and in January 2008 received the hundred year plaque. In November of 1975 they came to Alva to make their home. Mr. Rader was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ada Lawson and Margaret Collings, and a brother, Leonard. Bill is survived by his wife Olive, of the home, his step mother Gussie Rader, of Alva and a sister, Thelma Curry of San Diego, California. A nephew and his wife Ernest and Millie Rader, who purchased the homestead and make their home there. A number of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. PDF Printable Version
