Betty McNett
August 24, 1923 - April 12, 2007
Elizabeth Wayne (Betty), daughter of Susie Elizabeth (Powell) and Ralph Wayne Hubbard was born on August 24, 1923 in Dacoma, Oklahoma. She passed away at her home on the 12th day of April at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 18 days. She attended the Dacoma School System and graduated from the Jet High School with the Class of 1941. After graduating she then attended Northwestern State College. During W.W. II she worked for the F.B.I. in Washington D.C., then for the Adjutant General at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Miss Hubbard was married to Chester Elisha McNett on May 20, 1945 at the Jet United Methodist Church. To their marriage a daughter Marcy was born. Chet passed away on November 15, 1992. Following their marriage they lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In 1946 they moved to Carmen where they farmed and she taught school. In 1950 they went to Wichita, Kansas. They then moved to Helena in 1960, 1961 they moved to Cherokee and she became the administrator at the Masonic Hospital. In 1975 they moved to Alva and she became the business manager at the Review-Courier. She was a member of the Alva Town & Country Christian Church, the Alva Order of the Eastern Star and the Women of the Moose. Mrs. McNett was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank. Betty is survived by her daughter and her husband, Marcy and Ernest Engelken of Alva, a granddaughter and her husband Leisa and Scott TeLinde and three great grandchildren, Destiny.
