Sandra (Sandy)Gay Foote

Sandra Gay Foote passed away at her home in Clovis, NM on November 25, 2022, at the age of 83. Sandy (as she was known to her friends and family) was born in Alva, OK on August 26, 1939, to Mike and Josephine Bouziden. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Alva High School until her family moved to Omaha, NE, after which she attended and graduated from Mercy High School. After graduation, Sandy met George Foote, and on July 26, 1958, George and Sandy were married. George and Sandy subsequently raised five children—George Jr., Chris, Tim, Pam and Tom. Several years ago, Sandy moved from her long-time home of Alva to Clovis, NM, where she lived surrounded by numerous family members until her death. Throughout her life, Sandy remained close to her siblings, children, grandchildren, and other family members and was the bedrock of her large family, bringing everyone together for holidays, her 80th birthday party in Albuquerque or just for a delicious homemade Lebanese meal. Her siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins always enjoyed getting together in Alva from across the country for a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with George and Sandy. In her free time, Sandy enjoyed meeting and playing cards with her friends at the Moose Lodge, including Barbara Kletke, Shirley Schultz, Lou Koppitz and many others. Sandy was a generous and caring woman who never hesitated to help those in need. George and Sandy were well- known throughout Alva—they never met a stranger and frequently welcomed friends, family, employees, law enforcement and so many others into their home for a fresh-cooked breakfast or hot dinner. Sandy had a love for life that was infectious. She brought great joy to her friends and family, and she will be dearly missed. Sandy is survived by her children George Foote, Jr. of Clovis, NM, and former wife Laine of Guymon, OK, Chris Foote and wife Karen, and Tim Foote and wife Dana, all of Clovis, NM, Pam Dixon and fiancé Tim MaGill of Kansas City, MO, and former husband Steve Dixon of Stigler, OK, Tom Foote and wife Connie of Alva, OK; grandchildren Major Dayne Foote and wife Major Katie Foote, currently stationed in Guam, a US territory, Daryne Foote and partner Tana Patrick of Dallas, TX, Patty Keller and husband Tom of West Plains, MO, Grant Dixon and wife Rachel, currently living in London, England, Stephanie (Sissy) Dixon, currently attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, Garrett Foote and wife Megan of Clovis, NM, Lindsay Foote of Lubbock, TX, Colton and Trevor Foote of Alva, OK, Kaprix Foote of Clovis, NM and Collin Webb and partner Danielle Jenkins of Austin, TX (who are expecting Sandy’s great-grandson in March); great-grandchildren Tommy, Ethan and Kennedi Keller of West Plains, MO; siblings Dolores Brady and husband Robert of Omaha, NE, Bobby Bouziden and wife Ruby of Alva, OK, and Jerry Bouziden and wife Cheryl of Frankfort, IL; close family friend Stuart Rickert and wife Kelley; and many other relatives and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband George Foote, Sr., parents Mike and Josephine Bouziden, brother Mickey Bouziden, grandson Weston Dixon and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Sandy’s honor to go to St. Jude’s through Wharton Funeral Chapel.
