Robert Dale Murrow

Robert Dale, son of Dorothy Freda (Miller) and Cecil Wayne Murrow was born on March 20, 1936 in Alva, Oklahoma. He passed away at his son and daughter-in-law’s home on a farm near Cherokee, Oklahoma on September 28, 2021 at the age of 85 years 6 months and 8 days. Dale attended and graduated from the Farry School System with the Class of 1956. Dale was united in marriage to Nell Jean Coltrane on July 14, 1956 at the Cora Church. To their union 4 children were born Cecilia, Steve, Robert and John. Following their marriage, they moved to Alva where Dale worked for Loomis’s Furniture and Carpet as a carpet layer and installer. He later went to work for the Oklahoma State Highway Department. He retired with over 30 years of service in 1996. In 2011 he moved to the farm outside of Cherokee, Oklahoma to live with his son and daughter-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Dorothy, the love of his life Nell Jean, a daughter Cecilia and son-in-law Randy, two brothers, infant Johnny and Phillip, a sister Loretta, and two great grandchildren Makinzie and Quintin. Dale is survived by his three sons and their wives, Steve and Janett of Cherokee, Oklahoma, Robert and Linda of Macksville, Kansas and John and Charolett of Ford, Kansas. Two Sisters Coetta Schmidt of Helena, Ok and Diana Whisman of Alva, two brothers Max of Bluff City, Ks and Russell of Alva. Fourteen grandchildren, Randy and Jaycee Kopisch of Alva, Tanya and Chad Johnson of Alva, Tisha and JJ Williams of Granite, OK, Kristin Sciara, of Burlington, Ok, Derek Murrow of Cherokee, OK, Angela Lee of Macksville, Ks, Dagan Waters of Macksville, Ks, Misty Murrow of Macksville, Ks, Alaina and Billy Dohle of Junction City, Ks Dallas and Mason Morrow of Offerle, Ks, Hunter and Diane Waters of Anchorage, Ak, Kera Murrow of Bucklin, Ks, Kendra Murrow and Aaron Wilkens of Cimarron, Ks, Keshia and Cody Schauvliege of Spearville, Ks. Thirty -nine Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends Contributions may be made in his memory to American Heart Association And St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through Wharton Funeral Chapel
