Linda D Pfleider

Linda Diane, daughter of Alvena (Davidson) and Donald (Bud) Case, was born May 28, 1956. She passed away at Share Medical Center in Alva, Oklahoma, on April 2, 2026, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 5 days. She was a lifelong resident of Alva, Oklahoma, where she attended grade school and high school, graduating with the Class of 1974. Linda attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. Following college graduation, Linda taught business classes at NWOSU for 1 year before returning to her Goldbug roots at Alva High School in 1986. In 1988, Linda completed a Master of Education degree at NWOSU. Throughout her 37 years at Alva High School, Linda taught a variety of business classes and shared a special connection with her alternative education students. She was a professional educator, holding membership in local, state, and national education associations. Linda was also listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Her commitment to her students extended beyond the classroom. She was a proud supporter of all school activities and successfully started the Alva High School Rodeo Club. Linda received an Honorary FFA Degree and was given honorary membership in the Alfalfa County 4-H. She retired from AHS in 2023 and was honored as a Distinguished Goldbug in 2024. Growing up, Linda enjoyed playing sports, especially softball. She loved anything horse-related and was happiest when outdoors. As an adult, she pursued her love for horses by teaching riding lessons, working with K.P. to break and train horses, running barrels, and simply enjoying the bond she developed with each of her equine partners. Linda served as the Woods County Horse Superintendent for 9 years and judged the NW District 4-H Horse Show and the Alfalfa County Horse Show multiple times. She also judged rodeo queen contests in Woodward, Seiling, Cherokee. Waynoka, and Freedom, Oklahoma, as well as Hardtner and Attica, Kansas. Linda was an avid fisherman; she did a little hunting, too. Linda married her cowboy, Kenny (K.P.) Pfleider, on September 3, 1999. They made their home at the Pfleider homestead southwest of Alva, a place that truly became her home. She loved the many dogs that shared their farm, especially her miniature dachshund, Tika. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ramona Shalloup; her brother, Ken Case; and her son-in-law, Justin Wardrop. She is survived by her husband, Kenny (K.P.) Pfleider; her brother, Larry (Rita) Case; her brother-in-law, C.G. Shalloup; her children, Lori Wardrop, Jonathan (Zandria) Gallon, Kerry (Ben) Poer, and Krissy (Stephen) Smeyak. She considered her grandchildren the greatest gifts her children could have given her. She is survived by Landon Wardrop; Laney (Matt) Buck; Caylie, Johanna, and Connor Gallon; Bailey (Preston) Kafka and Tatum; Wyatt Poer; and Mira Smeyak. A true Goldbug understands what it means to be a Symbol of Excellence. Linda embodied the Goldbug spirit.
