Linda Faye Hendricks

Linda Faye Hendricks, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva, Oklahoma. Linda was born on November 1, 1947, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Oble Lee Dooley and Juanita Lenora (Duncan) Smith. She attended school in Hardtner, Kansas, where she later graduated. Linda lived a life filled with love, strength, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her creativity, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her greatest joy in life was adopting and raising her only son, Curtis Ray Fulkerson, in November of 1975 with her then husband, Mike Fulkerson. She loved her family and friends fiercely, always putting those she cared about at the center of her world. Her grandchildren lovingly knew her as “Memaw,” a name that reflected the warmth and love she gave so freely. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oble Lee Dooley and Juanita Lenora (Duncan) Smith; her sister, Vickie McKinnon; her significant other, Kenneth Knabe; and her husband, Murray Ellis. Linda is survived by her beloved son, Curtis Fulkerson and his wife, Bennetta Fulkerson; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Fulkerson and his wife, Yauri Fulkerson, Sharra Fulkerson, Jeremy Sterling, and Jim Beason; and her great-grandchildren, Curtis Hill, Kaila Hill, and Harry Fulkerson; and her adopted great-grandson, Benjamin Walker. She also held a special place in her heart for her “adopted” grandchildren, Angel Rauch, Kenneth Shiplet, Raechel Shiplet, and Helen Hawkins Hawkins and Carl Parsons a adopted brother, whom she loved as her own. Linda is also survived by her loving nieces, Jackie Robertson and her husband, Wesley Robertson, and Kimberly Cook; her great-nieces, Isabella Robertson and Anaura Cook; her great-nephew, Rhys Robertson; her brother-in-law, Warner McKinnon; and her stepchildren, Kirk Cooke and Sherri-Dawn Jeffrey Cooke. Linda found great happiness in the things she loved most—fishing, crafting, painting, coloring, and camping. Whether she was creating something with her hands or enjoying time outdoors, she brought warmth, creativity, and love into everything she did. A visitation will be held on April 15, 2026, at Wharton Funeral Chapel until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., also at Wharton Funeral Chapel. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love will continue through the generations she cherished so dearly.
