Biography

Lillian Emma, daughter of Emma E. (Knapp) and Henry Gerloff, was born on February 19, 1916 near Freedom, Oklahoma. She passed away at the Alva Beadles Nursing Home on the 27th of January at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 8 days.
She attended the Freedom School System and graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1934.
Miss Gerloff was married to Lewis J. Devine on July 17, 1939 in Cherokee, Oklahoma. To their marriage a son, Larry was born.
Following their marriage they worked for his brother Alva. On December 7, 1941 they established a ranch north of Freedom, which the family still operates today.
Mrs. Devine attended the Freedom Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 2, 1995; her son Larry on August 3, 2011; and her parents.
Lillian is survived by her daughter-in-law Judy; a grandson and his wife, Darrel and Lisa of Freedom; a granddaughter and her husband, Tricia and R.L. Coday of Alva; three great granddaughters, Erica Anne Coday, Taylor Nicole and Kalea Jo DeVine; a great grandson B.J. Baker; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
