Donald Otto Wiebener
July 5, 1927 - June 30, 2010
Donald Otto, son of Matilda (Ritter) and Otto Wiebener, was born July 5, 1927 in Alva, Oklahoma. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on June 30, 2010 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 25 days.
He attended the North Eagle Rural Grade School and Alva High School where he lettered in football and graduated with the class of 1945. He attended Oklahoma A&M for three years and served with the Oklahoma National Guard.
Donald was married to June Weaver on February 17, 1951 in DeRidder, Louisiana. To their marriage three children, Kay, Jack and Joy, were born. Following their marriage they lived on a farm south west of Alva. June passed away on October 24, 1998.
His hobbies were dancing, hunting arrowheads, fishing, playing dominoes with friends and attending baseball games.
He was a member of the Alva First Christian Church, serving as deacon and elder and served on the Alva Board of Education for several terms.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Don Wiebener, a great grandson Cambron Fisk, his parents and a brother Verlin.
Don is survived by his three children and their spouses, Kay and George Fisk, of Dallas, Texas , Jack and Dee, and Joy and Mike Meier, all of Alva; nine grandchildren, Cary and Roisin Carter, Darren and Meredith Fisk, Megan and Damon Humphrey, Nathan Fisk, Christa Carter, Taylor and Natalie Wiebener, Jeremy Wiebener, Tyler Meier and his fiancé Erin Goss, Trevor and Kenzi Meier; five great grandchildren, Madison Fisk, Wesley Humphrey, Taylie Wiebener, Dakota and Kaya; a sister-in-law Betty Wiebener, of Alva; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held immediately following the graveside service at 535 Lake Drive.
