In Loving Memory of Wesley Schwerdtfeger



Life Legacy


Wesley, son of Millie (Erdman) and Otto John Christian Schwerdtfeger, was born December 16, 1918 on the farm southwest of Capron. He passed away on the 11th day of March at the Alva Share Medical Center at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 26 days.
Wesley attended grade school at Belle View Country School before graduating from Capron High School with the Class of 1936.
On May 25, 1940 he married Winona McCulloch in Capron, Oklahoma. To their marriage two sons, Terry and Greg were born.
Following their marriage they lived on a farm 2 miles west of Capron, where he farmed and raised cattle. In 2000 they moved to the Homestead in Alva. Winona passed away March 9, 2008.
He was a longtime member of the Capron United Methodist Churc
Wesley served on the Capron School Board and worked with the Capron FFA. He loved to play Pitch and Bridge.
Mr. Schwerdtfeger is preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother Wiley Emil, on February 7, 2008.
Wesley is survived by his two sons and their wives, Terry and Barbara of Morrison, and Greg and Melissa of Capron. Nine grandchildren, Terisa, Rod, Larisha, Katrina, Terry, Chad, Josh, John and Richard; sixteen great grandchildren. A brother and his wife, Edgar and Virginia Schwerdtfeger of Alva. Two sisters- in- Law, Betty Ann Wiens of Neosho, Missouri and Jane Lovitt of Warrensburg, Missouri A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
