BiographyLois Elaine, daughter of May (Shelly) and Joe B. Cline, was born on December 18, 1914 in Cameron, Missouri. She passed away at Arkansas City, Kansas on March 5, 2010 at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 18 days.The family came to Alva in 1930 and she graduated from Alva High School with the class of 1932. Miss Cline was married to Lawrence M. Kinney on March 8, 1934, in Alva where they lived. In 1945 they moved to Cherokee where they managed the A.C. Houston Lumber Co. In Alva she helped organize the Fidelis Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church while her husband was a prisoner of war during WWII. For a number of years Lois and Lawrence drove dialysis patients and others to Wichita for treatment or doctors’ appointments. They also drove many others in need of local transportation to and from Wichita (air travel) and Newton (train travel). In 1958 they went to Arkansas City, Kansas for A.C. Houston Lumber Co. until it closed. Lois and Lawrence were co-owners of Kinney’s Self Service Laundry and Dry Cleaners at 117 West Central and the E-Z Way Laundry at 1618 North Summit Street in Arkansas City, Kansas. She retired in 1985. Lois was an avid Bridge player and loved Duplicate Bridge and tournaments. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 21, 2001; her parents and a sister Jane Cline. Mrs. Kinney is survived by her two sons and their families: Bob and Anne, of Sandia Park, New Mexico and Don of Arkansas City, Kansas; a grandson and his wife, Bill and Teresa Kinney and their son Jackson, of St. Joseph, Missouri; two granddaughters, Michelle and her husband Mark Davis, of Pecos, New Mexico and Jennifer Kinney and her fiancé Christopher Kindred, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister and her husband Erl Lene and Joe Bozzaco of Boardman, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At her request she was cremated Burial
